Saturday the 10th of July, 2010 is the Lions Rugby annual sponsors and family day. On this day the mens senior rugby will be up against the talent of Shamrocks Rugby Club over three grades. Indeed the First Grade is shaping up for a great contest with at least 12 Illawarra Representatives and 2 NSW Country reps across the two teams.
As many of you are aware from last years event our Annual Sponsors Day is a day filled with good Rugby and plenty of activies on the side line.
This year we are going one step further and we are combining the day with a fundraiser for Camp Quality Illawarra. It is our intention to have the Juniors play their
games as a form of current raiser to the main games.
There will be a raffle and lucky door prizes to be won and plenty of activities for the kids including a jumping castle and face painting. (prizes include a weeks accomodation in Port Macquarie and a weekend in the Hunter Valley to name two)
Tickets to a ‘corporate area’ will be available prior to the day, the cost of this ticket will include entry, donation to camp quality, food and drinks all day plus entry to the post match presentation to be held at the Caringbah Businessmans Club. A shuttle bus will be running between the Lions Den (Old Bush Road) and the Bizzo’s. The post match presentation will include an auction of sporting items and music.
The day is shaping up to be successful in its aim of raising much need funds for Camp Quality Illawarra, an organisation dedicated to putting a smile on sick childrens faces with the ideology of laughter being the best medicine.
Further if anyone wishes to make a donation, or knows of companies, organisations etc, that may wish to donate in the form of prizes, money or resources that could be used on the day please contact me on the any of the contacts below.
So grab a mate or two, (even the missus) and come and watch some good quality park Rugby, enjoy a cold one or two and tell your mate that ‘it was a lot tougher in my day’ and how good you used to be ‘at their age’.
